NaBloPoMo et all

Hi there! I have been very busy these past few days but I wanted to be sure to pop in and give you all an update.

I signed up for NaBloPoMo which is the blog version of NaNoRiMo, to kick start my personal finance blog, The Bajan Budgeter. I plan to do one post of everyday in November. So far, so good; I am enjoying the challenge and the learning process.
I made myself a list of prompts to help me if I ever feel stuck, but since I am also doing a No-Buy November and a grocery challenge, I hope to have some things to write about, without having to force it. I report back on how this goes.

Today was a restful day for me. I made a big pot of soup by throwing in almost everything that I had left over in the fridge, even some left over brown rice. I wasn't too sure how it would taste, because I had very little or none of the usual key ingredients. Thankfully though, it was good. I am very much becoming a confirmed soupaholic.

My fresh food stores consequently are in a really sad state right now. I have 1 tomato, 1 onion, 1 cucumber, a small piece of pumpkin and half a head of cabbage left over.

I should be able to make it to Wednesday with some creative cooking, but then a grocery trip of epic proportions is definitely in order. My grocery challenge is to stick within my budget, despite it being a month where my pantry is very bare. I am still trying to figure out exactly how I am going to get this one done. Wish me luck and if you can suggest some cheap food solutions.

I have a lot of things on the agenda for tomorrow as it is my last day off before my work cycle starts again.
I plan to do some cooking, cleaning, meal planning and assessing more of my items. These need to fitted in with all of my usual good habits: yoga, meditation, journalling and walking at least 500 steps as well as getting in my NaBloPoMo post. Whoosh! I feel tired just from typing that.

It is a lot but I find that all my days feel really full now and that can get overwhelming at times. Thankfully, the walks around the neighbourhood or to the beach come in handy for when I feel the need to unwind.

I'll leave you with a picture of a grassy lot I pass on my walks. I snapped it as landscape doodling inspiration but the blueness of the sky, took my breathe away when I uploaded the picture to my computer and I instantly knew I wanted share with my friends.

I hope you all have an awesome week. ^_^
