Drum-roll please. My Winter Fat Hat is done. It has a slight slouch but I find that charming and the lady it is made for does have longer hair than me so that should help with fitting. It still needs the ends sown in so its not done but it'll be ready for Friday. I'm going to try to push on the Carnival Cotton.
The pattern I used for the body of the Winter Fat Hat is a simple knit and purl variant, that I call stepping up. Have a look!
